What is Find People?
Jobster's Find People search allows you to target and find passive candidates for your hard-to-fill open positions by searching our database of over 29 million professionals from more than 900,000 companies. Then you can use Jobster's existing tools to contact targeted professionals, introduce them to your organization, and advertise open positions. What industries and functions are included in Jobster's database of people?
People in Jobster's database aren't skewed toward any specific industry or job function. The database covers all industries, functions, and professional positions – from individual contributors to managers and executives.
What countries are included in Jobster's database?
Jobster's database mostly contains names of individuals who are U.S. residents.
Where do the names and their related data come from?
Names and information in our database are collected from multiple sources, including published data, web data, and user-validated data.
Are the names and information from my Talent Network used to build Jobster’s database?
No, the Talent Network you’ve built is an asset that Jobster does not share with others. None of the information in Jobster’s database contains information mined from its customers’ Talent Networks.
How up-to-date is the information?
Jobster updates and validates 2 million to 6 million names in our database each month.
Why is this feature a beta?
Beta refers to a software version released in advance of wide-scale distribution. While this release is fully functional and tested, it has been classified as a beta because we're making it available on a limited basis. We also have plans to evolve this feature rapidly in the near future to provide even greater functionality. If you do find an issue with the sourcing feature, please email us a description of the problem to sourcingbeta@jobster.com.
Using the Find People Search
How do I use Jobster's passive candidate search to find targeted candidates?
Searching our passive candidate database is simple: just type in the information you're looking for in any of the available fields: Name, Title, Company, and/or Location. We'll search our database of over 29 million names and return results that match your query. Each field that you complete behaves as a logical "and." For example, to find Project Managers in Seattle, you would complete both the Title and Location fields; to find Senior Accountants at ACME Inc, you would complete both the Title and Company fields.
Are searches case sensitive?
No.
Do searches accept partial word matches?
Yes, searches accept partial word matches. For example, searching for "Manager" using the Title field would yield results for any individual in our database whose title contains the word "Manager," including "Program Manager," "Project Manager," and "Engineering Manager."
Do searches accept misspellings?
No, searches are not forgiving of misspellings. The terms you search must match the spelling of the information in our database.
Do searches accept Boolean logic?
Yes, to some extent. You may include the term "or" when completing the Name, Title, and Company form fields to avoid conducting multiple separate searches. For example, typing "software developer or software engineer or SDE" into the Title form field will return results that match any of these criteria. Other Boolean search terms such as "and" and "not" aren't supported.
What kind of candidate information do I get to see?
For each record in our search results, we display the person's name, title, and company, as available. Once you send a message to a contact or add him/her directly to your Jobster Talent Network, you will also have access to the individual's email address.
Can I drill-down on the names in search results to get more detailed information?
No. Jobster doesn't support this functionality at this time.
Why do I see names in my search results that I can't select?
Jobster only allows you to import names that have profile information associated with them, including company and contact information. If you can't select a name in your search results list, it means there's no associated profile information for this person.
How are search results sorted?
Search results are sorted based on relevancy and consider several factors, including the completeness and recency of information of the profiles. At this time, search results can't be re-sorted or filtered.
How do I use the information I find through Find People?
When you've identified potential candidates you'd like to contact, Jobster makes it easy to email them to advertise open positions or to invite them to join your organization's Talent Network (so they get automatically notified of future positions that match their interests). Simply select the individuals you'd like to contact, choose from among one of our suggested personal messages (or create your own), pick the jobs that you'd like to reference in your email, and you're done. Jobster takes care of the rest. You may also add the names to your network directly and contact these people at a later time. In either case, you can continue to access these contacts from the Network area of the Jobster service in the future.
What will my email message look like?
Jobster includes customizable email templates to ensure the greatest possible response to your email campaigns. Emails include your personal message and direct the users to a webpage where they can learn more about your open positions, inquire, send to friends, or join your organization's Talent Network. All emails and online pages are branded with your organization's name.
Does Jobster check for duplicates (i.e., names that I already have in my Talent Network) before sending them an email message?
Yes, if an email address from our database matches the email address of someone already in your Talent Network, we will not send the message to that individual or overwrite the information that exists in your Talent Network.
Do email recipients need to create a Jobster account to inquire about a position or join my organization's Talent Network?
No. They don't need a Jobster account to access your company's job listings or Talent Network.
What response rate should I expect from emails sent to enhanced sourcing contacts?
Your response rate from candidates found with enhancing sourcing will likely be lower than when emailing to your own network, for two primary reasons.
- Jobster derives individual contact information by analyzing the email patterns of organizations. While this method is accurate most of the time, there may be cases when an individual's email address doesn't conform to the normal pattern of his or her organization. Also, some records may be out-of-date, if individuals have moved to other organizations without updating their information.
- The "Find People" search is similar to cold-calling: people found through Find People are likely passive candidates who may not be interested in exploring career opportunities and potentially haven't heard of you (or the organization you represent). As a result, a smaller percentage may respond to your inquiries.
Can recipients opt-out of receiving future emails from my organization?
Yes. In keeping with recognized anti-spam email best practices, Jobster allows recipients to opt-out of receiving future emails from your organization. All future emails sent to these blocked email addresses from your organization through Jobster will automatically be suppressed.
Are contacts from the passive candidate database categorized differently from other contacts in my network?
Find People contacts don't automatically get categorized differently in your network; however, you can create a custom folder and classify all contacts from enhanced sourcing accordingly. This custom folder will be available to choose from each time you send a message to potential prospects you find with enhanced sourcing.
Are people who don't respond to my email campaigns visible in my network?
Yes. All email campaign recipients are automatically imported to your network, even if they don't take immediate action from your message. From your network, you can view the person's name, title, company name, and email address for future reference.
Are names automatically updated?
No. Once you add someone from the enhancing sourcing database to your network, you will need to make any contact information updates, as needed. The contact no longer remains synched with the enhanced sourcing database.
Product and Service
How many names can I import from Jobster's Find People database?
Every seat license of the Jobster recruiter application allows you to contact up to 1,000 names from our database each month. This quota resets at the beginning of each calendar month as long as you are a Jobster customer.
Is there an additional fee for this functionality?
No. Access to the enhancing sourcing database is included for all Jobster customers.
Am I charged each time I search the passive candidate database?
No. You can conduct as many searches as you wish without charge, and without impacting your monthly 1,000 name quota.
Is my quota of 1,000 names depleted even when recipient email addresses are invalid?
No. Jobster ensures you only pay for people with valid contact information by crediting you for emails that bounce-back from their intended recipients. For example, if you contact 100 individuals found through our passive candidate database and 20 of those emails bounce, then you would use only 80 of your 1,000 name quota.
How long does it take to receive credits for invalid email addresses?
Jobster will credit your account for bounced emails each week on the same calendar day.
How do I know how many names remain in my balance?
Whenever you conduct a Find People database search, Jobster will display the remaining number of credits that remain in your monthly quota on the search results page.
If I don't use all 1,000 name credits in a month, can I roll them over to the next month?
No. Unused credits expire at the end of each month.
Can I share some or all of my monthly quota with other Jobster users in my organization?
No. Quotas are specific to individual seat licenses and cannot be shared across seats.
Can I purchase additional blocks of 1,000 names?
Not at this time. While you can't buy additional blocks of names, you can buy additional Jobster seat licenses to contact more people per month through enhanced sourcing and to add them to your network.
