Confused about Jobster terminology? This list provides definitions of commonly-seen Jobster words:

- D -

Dashboard: The Dashboard is the landing page for the Jobster recruiter application. It provides a snapshot of your most recent activity. Visit your Dashboard to see an overview of your tasks and prospect activity, read Jobster bulletins, and review recent messages and jobs.

Duplicate: Do you fill a lot of similar positions? Now you can duplicate a job from the 'More actions' drop-down menu on each job listing page.

- F -

Folders: Folders are a way for you to categorize your contacts by categories such as "network administrators," "college graduates," or "job-fair attendees." You can have as many folders as you want, and they can be managed on the Settings page.

- I -

Initiatives: The Initiatives tab contains how-to guides filled with tips and step-by-step instructions to help you use Jobster to boost the effectiveness of your recruiting efforts.

Inquiry: An inquiry represents an individual who, after receiving a message, expresses interest in the job. When an individual inquires via Jobster, they become a prospect for that job.

- J -

Jobs: The Jobs tab lists all the job postings at your company. You can sort your jobs by title or number of associated prospects.

Every time you enter a job description, you create a job that promotes your opportunities in an easy-to-read format. Your jobs can't be viewed by anyone other than recruiters in your company until you:

  • Post to the network: When you post a job, it is considered active and becomes available to everyone in your Talent Network. Any newly posted job that matches an individual's Insider Alerts preferences will also be included in their next alert.
  • Send messages: Send jobs to selected individuals and groups with a Jobster message.

A job can be updated whenever you like and can appear in multiple messages at one time. When you are finished promoting your job, you can then easily make the job inactive.

- M -

Messages: Messages are a more robust way to run targeted programs to promote jobs. Whereas campaigns were just for jobs, messages can be job promotions, network invitations, or any other sort of follow-up with a prospect.

The Messages tab shows all the messages (such as job promotions or network invitations) that have been sent to your prospects; you can filter your messages by date or the number of recipients.

- N -

Network: Get to know the people in your network through categories such as job function, former employers, and even what keywords interest them most.

Network Invitations: This is one kind of message you can send to your contacts. All recruiters are encouraged to invite hiring managers, employees, and other friends and colleagues to join the network, members of which get Insider Alerts. These invitations can be sent at any time and are a good way to revitalize and expand your Talent Network.

- P -

Profile: Jobster creates a profile for every person who receives a message or a network invitation, and every person who responded to a message, invitation, or web post as an inquiry, referrer, or recommender.

Each profile contains basic contact information. If a person inquires, the details of his or her background and work experience will be included. You can search profiles to find people with specific experience with particular companies. A profile contains as little or as much information as an individual decides to provide.

Contact information and professional history learned from referrals can be captured by a recruiter and added to information supplied by the individual. Any information supplied by your company will only be seen by the people in your company.

Prospect: A prospect is an active lead. A person becomes a prospect when he or she inquires or is referred or recommended for a job, or when you manually add him or her to your list of prospects.

Prospects: The Prospects tab lists all the prospects for jobs at your company. You can filter your prospects by who needs a follow-up or who's on the short-list for a particular job.

- Q -

Quick info: From any contact page, you can add notes to a particular contact's profile by selecting "Edit & categorize" and entering information in the "Quick info" section. It's a great way to add key profile information visible to recruiters on all lists.

- R -

Ratings: We've simplified our prospect ratings; now you can define a prospect as "Not for this job" (which is just what it sounds like) or "Shortlist," which applies to prospects you consider a good fit.

Recipient: A recipient is any person who receives a message. Jobster gives you the ability to see which recipients have viewed your messages, and to track their progress.

Recommendation: A recommendation is an endorsement of a prospect from a trusted source for a particular job. You can view recommendation details in the list of prospects for a job, as well as in the individual's profile.

Recruiters: This page shows all the recruiters working for your company. You can sort them by name, jobs filled, or their last sign-in date.

Referral: When a trusted source knows a person who might be qualified for a particular job, he or she can tell the hiring team to follow up. A referral is a quick heads-up, not a formal recommendation.

Relationships: Relationships represent the connection between any person in your Talent Network and your company.

- S -

Settings: The Settings tab is where you can control and configure your Jobster experience for prospect notifications and folders. If you're a recruitment manager, you'll have expanded options.

Sources: Jobster helps you bring in prospects through a variety of sources, such as messages, websites, and groups. The Sources page lets you check their overall performance and add new sources to reach out even further.

- T -

Talent Network: Your Talent Network includes all the people who have received a message from your company, and/or anyone who responded to a message, referrer, or recommender. Your Talent Network is at the core of how you use Jobster; the professionals in your Talent Network can see all your job listings, inquire about available jobs, and refer their friends. You want your Talent Network to be as robust as possible — the more professionals in your Talent Network, the easier it will be to fill future positions.

- V -

Visitors: A visitor is anyone who received an Insider Alert or a message and clicked the link provided to view the job(s). Typically, messages produce far more visits than inquiries or recommendations.

Visit Rate: Sometimes referred to as the "click-through rate." Visit rate is the number of visitors to a message divided by the total number of recipients. The result is shown as a percentage.
